The jobsite was tight and the schedule was precise. There was not one side of the school that was left without new concrete placed inside and out.

U-Haul is a three-story storage facility designed with extensive reinforced concrete from the below-grade footings and walls up to the suspended level one slab to maintain the building’s structural integrity. This was a larger-scale concrete structure requiring knowledge, experience, large equipment, and a lot of manpower.

Coordination with the excavators ensured seamless execution, efficient sequencing, and high-quality finishes across more than 1,000 CY of concrete.

Story

Hastings Streetscape is a downtown revitalization project enhancing sidewalks, crosswalks, and public spaces. Kent placed over 48,000 SF of standard, colored, and exposed aggregate concrete, along with curbs, planter foundations, and more. Through strategic sequencing and real-time coordination, the result is a beautiful streetscape delivered without disruptions to downtown businesses.

West Michigan Beef Company – Processing Facility

Story

The entire project covered 90,000 SF, it began in the fall and continued through the winter months. Besides, most of the walls were tall, radiused, and had multiple elevations, difficult to form. The freezer floors were placed on insulation and had hardener broadcast into the surface. The team was challenged by ten different USDA curb wall section details, totaling over half a mile in length.

Shanty Creek Resort – Lodge Entrance

Kent Companies built this 17-story multifamily structure on a zero lot line site with the use of the Doka Safety Wall system. Studio Park Tower is the fifth-tallest building in the city and built atop an existing six-level parking structure.

Story

As the Hudsonville area grew, so did the need to expand their schools. Hudsonville Public Schools broke ground on a new 112,000 SF fifth and sixth grade campus and Burgess Concrete was able to provide them with 40,000 SF of timeless poured and polished concrete floors.

This project consisted of five buildings, totaling 170,000 SF. Each building had its own schedule with overlap. Most of the eight-inch floors sloped to drains and were placed on insulation for in-floor heat. Building flatwork, foundations and excavations of footings was the entire scope.
